Katherine Jenkins Concert Announced
Friday, 16th March 2007
Welsh superstar, Katherine Jenkins, has announced what looks likely to be the biggest homecoming concert of the year. Entitled “Katherine in the Park”, the special one-off extravaganza at Margam Park on Sunday July 8th will be the star’s only Welsh concert this year, and will also feature her very special guest, Juan Diego Flórez, considered the hottest opera talent in the world today. Award-winning choir, Serendipity, and the National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Anthony Inglis, complete a sensational line-up.
Katherine commented: “We had some fantastic offers to take this show to lots of other sites around Wales and the UK but from day one I wanted to bring it home to Neath. This is my hometown, this is where it all started, and I wanted it to be a big day out for my friends, family, and the people of Wales and a special thank you gesture for all the support they’ve given me over the years. I’m so excited that my friend Juan Diego Flórez is coming. He really is the most exciting tenor in the world today. So chill the champagne and bring the picnic basket – let’s make this a day to remember”
Event Organisers, The Pop Factory, say that the concert is an exciting foretaste of what fans can expect from Katherine’s own annual weekend festival now set to launch next year.
Tickets go on sale this Saturday, March 17, and are priced at £37.50 picnic and £45.00 reserved seating and are available from the box-office on 02920 230130 or in person from Ticketline, Cardiff, at 47 Westgate St, Cardiff CF10 1TL.
